We have an active Women's Ministry team at NKBC, who plan fun events like Craft & Game Nights, our annual Garden Tour and others. Our Church Schedule page contains information on upcoming events.

Special Interest Groups

We use some of the special interests that women have as the basis for the organization of small groups. Each group has an informal leader or contact person, but the group decides when and where to meet (weekly, monthly, etc.). This "small group informal approach" has proven to be just the thing that many women are looking for.

If any of the topics listed interest you, please contact the church office for more information. If you have a special gift or interest and would like to start a group of your own, please contact our Women's Ministry Team. We would love to see friendships develop and grow as we come together as sisters in Christ, sharing our common interests with others.

Some of our current and past special interest groups:
    • Basketry
    • Beauty of Watercolor
    • Bookworms
    • Decorative Painting
    • Discovering Beauty from Within
    • Gardening
    • Moms of Tots
    • Moms of Teens
    • Scrapbooking
    • Stamping

We would like the groups to have five components in order to aid growth in the following areas:

Spiritual.

A designated member or anyone in the group reads a portion of the Bible and/or shares a recent personal spiritual growth experience.

Galations 6:6 "Anyone who hears instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor."

Social.

Group members should care for and contact each other personally and learn to appreciate the diversityof the personality of other group members.

I Timothy 2:8 "I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in group prayer, without anger or disputing."

Practical.

Discussing or doing an activity related to the special interest of the group.

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Service.

The group should plan a special activity that will serve the church body, the community, or an individual.

Ephesians 6:6 "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men,..."

Confidential.

It is critically important that group members keep confidences that have been shared.

Psalm 141:3 "Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord, keep watch over the door of my lips."
