Leaving Neverland

March 13, 2012 by Pastor Duncan Forbes

Today, adolescence starts somewhere in the teen years and continues indefinitely. There is no foreseeable end. The problem with adolescence is we don't know when they're ever going to grow up and be men/women, and no pressure is exerted on them to do so. Is it when you're sixteen and you can drive, or eighteen when you can vote and join the military, or twenty-one when you can drink? Is it when you graduate from college after you've worked on your undergrad degree for seven or eight years? Is it when you get married? Is it when you have kids? Is it when you buy a house? No one knows. So, we are left with indefinite adolescence and a Peter Pan Syndrome epidemic where men want to remain boys forever.

Reflections - Feb. 12 & 19

February 7, 2012 by Pastor Duncan Forbes

Every one of us, if we're honest, could name at least one or two things we would change about the person we see in the mirror. For some of us, the mirror is the place where we are most critical. We see the things we are, and the things we are not. If you want to feel valuable, if you want to feel like you're worth something in this world, to feel loved, then you need to cover up some of those things you see in the mirror. You need to find a way to wear a mask so that people don't see the things you see when you look in the mirror. Unless . . . there's a better way. A way to live without the mask and see the reflection God sees.

2012: Is This The End?

January 11, 2012 by Pastor Duncan Forbes

Will the world come to an end or is it just hype and Hollywood spin. Did the Mayans really predict the end of the world. If so are they correct? How can we know.

Upside Down - Sept. - October - FIRE Series

September 16, 2011 by Pastor Duncan Forbes

In the Upside Down series, we are going to look at something Jesus talked a lot about—the kingdom of God. Many of the people who heard His message firsthand thought that He was talking about a kingdom where Jesus would be in political power, and that their lives would be easier than their present circumstances under Roman rule. But Jesus was talking about something bigger than that—a kingdom where His desire for broken things to be restored is met. Jesus was talking about ushering in an upside down kingdom

Check out all that we have planned for the summer. This is an awesome time to invite your friends and have them experience what FIRE is all about.
