Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Each summer, as volunteer staffing allows, we hold a
Vacation Bible School week at NKBC, open to all kids from those entering
first to sixth grade.
For
Summer 2009, our VBS will be "Crocodile
Dock - Where Fearless Kids Shine God's Light".
Dates to be announced. |

FOR 2008-2009 AWANA CLUB
The purpose of
AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ
and to train them to serve Him. We want our clubbers to
realize that God loves them and that through His Son, Jesus,
He provided salvation and the ability to have a personal
relationship with Him and that learning His Word and obeying
Him gives them meaningful and rewarding lives. This is
accomplished through Bible memory, Bible lessons, games,
achievements, and fellowship.
NKBC is
offering the following AWANA Clubs this year:
Puggles:
Infant - 2 year olds (for any staff members & helpers with
wee ones needing care).
Cubbies:
3 - 4 year olds
(must be 3 by August 31st)-Cubbies is a
limited program. A parent must stay and serve in
Cubbies OR in one of the other clubs.
Sparks:
Kindergarten -
2nd
grade
Truth &
Training (T&T):
3rd - 6th Grade
Leaders In Training
(LIT): 7th-12th Grade
AWANA meets from 6:30pm to 8:15pm on Wednesday nights
from the second Wednesday in September to early May.
Vacations, snow days etc. coincide with the North Kitsap
School District, thus club is cancelled during school
closures due to inclement weather and holidays. Each club night is divided into three main sections:
- Handbook time
Each clubber has a handbook which they progress
through by learning Bible verses and doing activities.
During Handbook time, the leaders check the
children's progress, listen to them recite verses,
check to make sure they understand and encourage
them. Prizes and awards are earned as the children
complete sections in their books.
- Game Time
Our game director plans exciting and fun-filled
games each week. In addition, weekly "theme nights"
such as Crazy Hat Night when everyone wears crazy
hats or Pig Night where lots of food games and
activities abound make AWANA crazy and full of fun.
- Council time
Each evening Bible truths and the gospel are
presented to the clubbers in a variety of ways.
AWANA is an international ministry with chapters throughout
the world. Although North Kitsap Baptist Church sponsors
this particular chapter, children from a variety of churches
attend AWANA. If you do not have a church, however, we
invite your family to consider our church as your home. We look forward
to ministering to your family. If you would like more information please
