At NKBC we are
striving to be the Bible-based church Jesus intends us to be. We are a
multi-generational church in the heart of Poulsbo, reaching people of all
ages through relevant worship services, Biblical teaching, fellowship groups
and community outreach. The
purposes of our church are based upon the Great Commandment
and the Great Commission given to us by Jesus. The Great
Commandment tells us to love God and love others. The Great
Commission tells us to reach and teach. These four
priorities are spelled out in the acrostic: WIFE. It stands
for Worship (loving God), Instruction
(teaching), Fellowship (loving each other), and Evangelism
(reaching). They are our reason for being. While there are
many good things we could do, we evaluate our life and our
success at being what Jesus has called us to be by these
essentials.
These priorities are reflected in our programs and
opportunities for service.
Our
Sunday
services are open to everyone. We encourage people to "come as you are" to
either our 9:00 (traditional music) or 10:45 (contemporary music) service.
Each service features about 30 minutes of congregational singing led by our
worship team, a special music presentation by a soloist or group of singers,
prayer together and a message from our pastor.
A fellowship
time with coffee and pastries is held between the services from
10:15 to 10:45 in our lower-level fellowship hall. A number of
adult classes are also
held on Sunday mornings during each service for in-depth Bible study and
discussion of contemporary issues from a Biblical perspective in a
smaller-group atmosphere. We have excellent programs for
children and youth/teens
as well.
